Robert Zammit on Sunday shared that he has been appointed Head of Division, Domestic Resolvability at the Bank of England.

In his new role, he will be responsible for “resolution planning and execution of domestically focused UK banks”.

He has worked at the bank for more than 13 years, having initially joined as Foreign Exchange Analyst, Markets Area in 2008. He then served as Sterling Markets Dealer/Analyst and Assistant Private Secretary to the Governor. Following seven months as Technical Advisor at the National Bank of Ukraine, on secondment from the Bank of England, he returned to the UK-based bank as Senior Manager, EU Withdrawal Unit in 2016. He then proceeded to also work as Senior Manager, Domestic Resolution and Senior Manager, UK Domestic Takers Directorate, Prudential Regulation Authority, before being appointed to his new position.

“It’s a great mix of both the familiar and the new, areas where we’re building on previous achievements, and opportunities to challenge ourselves, think differently, and be better,” he said.

He remarked that he has received the “most amazing welcome” from the team, and that it has been “fantastic reconnecting with colleagues” both in the UK and abroad.

Mr Zammit holds a Master of Arts in International Relations from University of Warwick and a Bachelor of Commerce (Hons) in Economics from University of Malta, and is particularly skilled in financial markets and financial analysis.

Founded in 1694, the Bank of England is the UK’s central bank. Its mission is to “promote the good of the people of the UK by maintaining monetary and financial stability”.
