Robert Farrugia, a long-time Msida St Joseph FC Council Member and President, has passed away, with his employer Cuschieri Group mourning the loss of "a dear colleague and friend."
The news was shared on the company’s official Facebook page, prompting an outpouring of heartfelt tributes from friends and colleagues.
“Robert was more than just a coworker – he brought kindness, dedication, and a bright spirit to every day we worked together. His presence made our workplace better and he will be deeply missed by all of us,” the company wrote in its tribute.
Cuschieri Group also extended its condolences to Mr Farrugia’s loved ones, stating that their thoughts were with his family, friends, and all those who knew him.
The post concluded with "May he rest in peace."
Among the many comments left on the post, one commentor said “Robert was more than just a teammate. He was someone many of us considered a true friend. Always willing to lend a hand, share a laugh, or offer kind words. His absence will be felt deeply by all of us. Rest in peace Bert.”
Mr Farrugia’s passing was also acknowledged on the Malta Football Association – 1900 page, in recognition of his service as President of Msida St Joseph FC.
“The Malta FA extends its heartfelt condolences to his family, friends, and all at the club during this difficult time,” the association said.
