Business Profile
As one of the few women in the local construction industry, my journey has included many meaningful achievements. My passion for construction began in my teens, inspired by my father's entrepreneurial endeavours. After earning a B.Com Hons in Management from the University of Malta in 2018, my first major project was to oversee the finishing stages of the five-star AX The Palace in Sliema. Furthering my expertise, I pursued an MSc in Project and Programme Management at Ecole Superieure de Commerce, Paris, following which I managed large-scale national construction projects such as the New Parliament Building and the restored Opera House in Valletta.
Since my appointment in 2010 as Director of AX Construction, I have led numerous restoration projects aimed at enriching Malta's architectural heritage, including works at St John’s Co-Cathedral, the Oratory of the Jesuits’ Church, the Farsons Brewhouse, the Maritime Museum, the visitor centre at St. Paul’s Catacombs, Marnisi Wine Estate, the restoration of Villa LuginsLand and the development of a new logistics centre for Quintano Foods. More recently, I led the completion of the Verdala Destination, encompassing both the Verdala Terraces, Malta's most coveted address and the Verdala Wellness Hotel – AX Privilege, Malta's first wellness hotel.
Current and upcoming projects continue to reflect this commitment, including the Ħaġar Qim pathway, civil engineering and restoration works at St Paul Palazzo, and the restoration of Sacro Monte in Rabat. I am also currently overseeing the commencement of Phase 2 of the extensive redevelopment of the AX ODYCY destination, while the comprehensive refurbishment of AX The Palace is scheduled to begin in November.
I serve as an Executive Director on AX Group's board, Vice President of the Malta Developers’ Association, and advocate sustainable development in the Building Industry Consultative Council. Engaging in international forums, I advocate for innovative and eco-friendly construction practices, ensuring quality and functionality for future generations.
