Y&P Cranes Director Raymond Gauci on Thursday remarked that the company’s mission is to see construction sites become more productive and secure, while making use of the latest technology and work practices.

Mr Gauci also said that the company has managed to progress thanks to several investments, including a growth scheme issued by the Government which saw the company secure an investment of €1.7 million in new machinery.

His comments came during a visit by Prime Minister Robert Abela to Y&P Cranes’ facilities in Naxxar.

The company has continued to expand its operations through seven new cranes containing some of the latest technology available.

Mr Gauci commented that projects nowadays are highly time-consuming, and through the funding received through the growth scheme, the company was able to progress further and invest in better equipment with the aim of meeting clients’ requests further.

“Our mission is to create more secure and productive construction sites with equipment containing the latest technology and with a trained workforce,” Mr Gauci said.

Dr Abela said the progress made by Y&P Cranes is indicative of the work that such enterprises have made during unforeseen circumstances.

“This is what Fitch, Moody’s, and the European Commission have said, that Malta will continue moving forward in economic growth should fill us with courage to continue achieving even more,” Dr Abela said.

“There are challenges and I can assure you that you will find a helpful Government just like you did during the pandemic,” he added.

He also stated that during the last few days, there were three reports that indicated Malta’s strong economic growth.

Formed in 2000 by Mr Gauci, Y&P Cranes primarily focuses on the renting, selling and maintenance of cranes.

While it initially started with just six cranes, the company has now grown substantially, importing more than 400 cranes, with a large amount of cranes also being ready to be exported.

Over the last four years, Y&P Cranes has managed to double the number of people it employs, something that Dr Abela commended, especially when it comes to the training that they are provided with within the workplace itself with the goal of them continuing to further their abilities.
