Noel de Gabriele on Wednesday shared that he has been appointed Director of Shared Technology Services at Malta-based Gaming Innovation Group (GIG).

Mr de Gabriele, a seasoned leader in IT and related services, has worked at the iGaming company for close to eight years, having first joined as Infrastructure Engineer back in 2016. Over the years he has served in a wide range of roles, including Head of Infrastructure & Databases and Head of Shared Technology Services.

In his new role, he will lead a team of experts specialising in infrastructure, DevOps, DB engineering and performance engineering, with the aim of promoting cost effectiveness, agility, and engagement.

Commenting on his career at GIG, Mr de Gabriele said that it has been an “enriching experience, filled with opportunities to learn and grow both personally and professionally.”

He expressed gratitude to the human resources (HR) team at the company for their “unwavering support and guidance,” factors which have proven crucial in helping him progress his career forward. “Their commitment to cultivating talent and fostering a culture of growth has greatly influenced my professional trajectory,” he added. Mr de Gabriele also thanked the support teams who constantly help from behind the scenes.

Prior to working at GIG, Mr de Gabriele had an extensive career at University of Malta, having served in different roles, including Senior IT Systems Engineer. He was also Computer Technician at United Ltd for over a year.

He holds a Master in Knowledge-based Entrepreneurship, Business Administration, Management and Operations, as well as a Bachelor of Science (Hons) in Information and Communication Technology, both from University of Malta.
