Bouche, Mellieħa’s paradise for pie-lovers, has announced it will not be reopening its doors when restrictions are lifted.

Making the announcement on Facebook, it apologised for the inconvenience caused to its customers and thanked them for their support.

The restaurant cited “internal reasons” for its closure, and wished its followers well, saying “take care of yourselves”.

Bouche was founded in 2019, promising a “great atmosphere”, “chef made gourmet pies”, “great beer”, and “delicious home-made desserts”.

The restaurant closed temporarily in October, announcing a “short break” while a critical piece of equipment was repaired, but said it would be announcing its “reopening shortly”.

This did not come to pass, however, with the restaurant now announcing its permanent closure.
