Margherita Privitera has been appointed Head of Risk Management at the Malta Financial Services Authority (MFSA).

The announcement was made by Ms Privitera herself through social media on Sunday, saying: “I’m happy to share that I’m starting a new position as Head of Risk Management at Malta Financial Services Authority!”

Before starting her now role at the MFSA, she had worked for more than 26 years at HSBC, serving numerous rules, with her last two being Head of FCR and KYC Operations and Head of Distribution Risk.

Among the responsibilities she had at HSBC as Head of Distribution Risk, she oversaw the managing the execution of opportunities in order to improve effectiveness, control oversight, as well as the customer experience in a transformative way while also ensuring risk is managed accordingly.

The MFSA is the single regulator of financial services in Malta, being in charge of regulating numerous institutions and companies, including those in banking, financial institutions, insurance companies and investment services companies.
