Malta has been graced with its first ever Starbucks Reserve Bar, an offshoot of the regular Starbucks outlets which can already be found on the island.
The Starbucks franchise is operated locally by db Group, while the Starbucks Reserve Bar offers the public the opportunity to experience its finest-quality coffee, serving up unique blends and beans from 30 countries around the world thanks to the use of technology and modern machinery worked by local baristas.
The bar is situated as part of a Valletta boutique hotel called the Melior, which was also inaugurated by Prime Minister Robert Abela this week after the €2 million investment for the 18-room hotel was completed.
As for the Reserve Bar, Prime Minister Robert Abela said it is expected to create 20 new jobs, while he praised the resilience of local investors for the trust being placed in the local economy.
Malta’s Starbucks Reserve Bar, it was revealed, is actually the first of its kind in the world, incorporating a Starbucks ‘Core’, meaning the traditional chain outlets, as well as a ‘Reserve’, meaning the finer quality and unique blends.
db Group CEO Robert Debono said the group will continue to place its trust in Malta, despite the pandemic, evidenced by the number of establishments opened over the past two years, such as four Starbucks outlets.
