The Malta Gaming Authority (MGA) has cancelled the licence awarded to watch retailer Watch World Luxury Limited.

The Malta-based retailer held a Type 3 B2C gambling services licence, issued in 2018, which it used to offer games on its site WorldWatchLuxury.com, which is no longer active.

The cancellation of its licence was effective from 28th June 2020 for failing to adhere to an order by the MGA, failing to ensure the integrity and availability of essential regulatory data, as well as failing to designate key function roles within the businesses.

“Watch World Luxury Limited is thus no longer authorised to carry out any gaming operations, register new players or accept new customer deposits, but is required to retain and provide all registered players with access to their player accounts and to refund all funds standing to the credit of players in line with the applicable law,” the MGA announced.

World Watch Luxury, which appears to have offered lottery draws for its watches on social media, may appeal the MGA’s decision.
