These include landmark locations in Valletta, Birgu, Xagħra, and Ċittadella in Gozo.

With an international open call for artists currently underway, interest in the Biennale has already surged. According to the Biennale’s website, 100 proposals have been submitted from around the world.

Together, this multidisciplinary team brings a combination of public cultural governance and private-sector creativity to guide the development and international positioning of the Malta Biennale.

The Biennale’s growing prominence also came under the spotlight in Parliament, with figures tabled by Culture Minister Owen Bonnici showing that over €70,000 were allocated to the Malta Biennale’s 2024 launch.
