Lufthansa Technik Malta announced it was delighted to welcome back its "esteemed" customer Aegean Airlines last week.

The company joked that, despite its employees wearing masks hiding their mouths, their smiling eyes express their delight.

In January, Lufthansa Technik, that employs over 550 workers, thanked the Government for its support.

Government Minister for Energy, Enterprise and Sustainable Development, Miriam Dalli, emphasised that the Government would continue to support the aviation industry through the pandemic.

Lufthansa Technik has a facility in Luqa and provides maintenance, repair and overhaul services for aircraft. They benefitted from the COVID Wage Supplement scheme in 2020 and will receive support in 2021 from the new revised Wage Supplement Scheme.
