A new chapter is beginning at one of Malta’s best-known hospitality and catering groups as Infinitely Xara officially rebrands to become Xara Collection.

Xara Collection encompasses multiple outlets, including The Xara Palace Hotel Relais & Châteaux , The de Mondion, Trattoria AD 1530, The Xara Lodge and Xara Catering and Medina Restaurant.

The new mother brand also comprises a host of other soon-to-open culinary offerings, the newly branded Xara Collection said in an announcement: The Villa – which holds two versatile dining and occasion spaces in its iconic building in the heart of St Julian’s – and Barumbara tal-Laring in Rabat.

Meanwhile, it added, the Xara Collection will pioneer “a new, holistic approach towards sustainability in the world of hospitality”.

It stresses that each subsidiary uses the most sustainable methods of operation in every aspect, from recycling a high percentage of all food and plate waste, to hosting an innovative hydroponics microfarm and investing in a new farming concept: Xara Gardens in Limits of Rabat.

“We are changing our branding but not our values. Xara Collection is all about memorable moments, bringing sustainability and quality to the forefront of the hospitality industry and into every detail of the brand,” explains Xara Collection CEO Neal Debono, “Through the immici Microfarms at The Xara Lodge and the new Xara Gardens, Xara will locally produce fresh, delicious produce that will feed our outlets, creating a truly ‘farm-to-fork’ experience for our guests, as well as building a sustainable future for the industry through sharing best practices.

Since its origins as The Xara Palace Relais & Châteaux – an exclusive five-star boutique hotel set in a 17th century palace on the bastions of Mdina – the diversified Xara portfolio has fast become one of Malta’s most well-respected and much-loved hospitality and catering brands.

Today, Xara Collection still embodies the many facets of Maltese culture and cuisine through each of its outlets. Medina Restaurant in Mdina has long been known for its superb Mediterranean and locally inspired menu, but as part of Xara Collection it is now set to rediscover lost Maltese recipes and bring them back to life for a new generation of diners.

Likewise, Trattoria AD 1530 remains one of the island’s go-to venues for a wholesome, family dining experience, and The de Mondion will continue to push the culinary bar higher as a proud Michelin-starred restaurant.
