InterContinental Malta announced on Wednesday (yesterday) that their latest Town Hall was marked by a “bittersweet moment” as they bid farewell to their General Manager Carlos Malliaroudakis. The company thanked Mr Malliaroudakis for his exceptional leadership and support during his time with them. He was described as being “instrumental in driving our success and helping us achieve new heights.”

Mr Malliaroudakis, who has a hospitality career spanning over 35 years, expressed how It had been an incredible Journey with IHG, a hotel group that has shaped his career upward. “I am thankful to all the colleagues I worked with, to the many friends I met and to all the owners with whom I have worked closely. We will for sure stay connected and meet again.”

His next adventure, starting on 29th May 2023, will be seeing him take over the role of General Manager of a major hotel in Athens. “Athens is a city we love so much and Greece is a beautiful country we consider home.”

On a personal note, he expressed how he feels that “exiting times” were ahead for him and his wife, Lina, and that they couldn’t wait to start living in Greece.

The company expressed their confidence that InterContinental Malta and Holiday Inn Express Malta would continue to thrive and excel in the future thanks to the strong foundation that Mr Malliaroudakis has helped build.
