Lombard Bank plc announced that its largest shareholder, the National Development & Social Fund (NSDF), has appointed Richard Dimech to the Board of Directors as a Non Executive Director.

The NSDF is a Government agency while Richard is currently engaged as a consultant with the Ministry for Social Policy and Children’s Rights.

The appointment is subject to regulatory approval.

Richard’s professional history has seen him serve in the banking industry and in politics. He previously served as an executive head at BOV’s business centre and Valletta branch, and was seconded to the office of President George Abela between 2008 and 2013.

He later joined former Social Solidarity Minister Michael’s private secretariat, and was then named chief of staff within Minister Falzon’s ministry, the pair having previously both been engaged at BOV.
