The fourth edition of the Malta Aviation Conference and Expo (MACE), based on the theme of Gaining Altitude, will come to an end on Thursday (today), signalling another “successful” edition of the event.

Taking off on Wednesday, this edition of MACE welcomed to Malta some of the most inspirational experts in the aviation industry for two days of panel discussions, keynotes and networking.

“It is always thrilling to see the ways in which this conference we started in 2019 keeps growing and evolving. We are truly delighted that we are able to host our conference yet again in Malta. We are proud to have provided this space for industry players, professionals, as well as policy makers to engage in discussions, partnerships, and share best practices, as well as meet, network, and identify new business opportunities for themselves and the industry,” said MACE founding partners Stanley Bugeja, Jonathan Dalli, and Joshua Zammit.

This year, the conference hosted over 30 local and international speakers including Minister for Transport, Infrastructure and Capital Projects Aaron Farrugia, Transport Malta CEO Jeffrey Curmi, among others.

“Year upon year, MACE, Malta’s biggest aviation-themed conference, continues to prove itself to be of great value to the aviation community. The conference wouldn’t be possible without the support of our main partner, Transport Malta, and all other partners that continue showing their support and consider MACE as a well needed discussion for the industry,” the founding partners continued, before adding that their support “motivates us to push forward and start working towards the fifth edition of MACE that will be held on 11th and 12th October 2023”.

With the aim of advancing the sustainability objectives within the aviation industry, MACE organisers have committed themselves to offsetting the event’s carbon footprint. By working with Azzerra, an innovative provider of carbon offsetting and compliance solutions, MACE offset all of its emissions generated by this year’s event.

Azzerra CEO and Co-Founder Puja Mahajan said that the company is “very pleased” to be working with MACE this year. “The organisers of this event are showing true leadership with their commitment to sustainability. Together, we are creating a model that can be replicated to make carbon neutrality an aviation conference standard,” she added.

This year’s edition of the event, held at the Hilton Conference Centre, represented the first one after the uncertain period of the COVID-19 pandemic, and while the past two years were “some of the toughest the aviation industry has ever experienced,” the industry has since learned how to “manage it better”.
