Former Labour Party Member of European Parliament (MEP) Marlene Mizzi, who was elected Malta’s first female MEP in 2013, has been appointed as a director of Malita Investment PLC.

Dr Mizzi holds an honours degree in economics and a Master of Philosophy in corporate governance.

She has served in senior positions for several companies including as Chairman of Sea Malta Company Ltd, Flagstone Insurance Brokers, and Medfeeder Company Ltd; and has served on the Bank of Valletta Board of Directors.

Malita Investments is a Government Registered Investment PLC. They operate on an independent and commercial basis, to contribute towards long-term investment development in Malta.

The company owns the sites of Malta International Airport and Valletta Cruise Port, and holds a temporary emphyteusis over the Parliament Building and Pjazza Teatru Rjal.

Malita plc is also currently involved in a major housing project, developing around 700 apartments and almost 300 garages for the Government’s affordable housing stock.

On Monday, Malita announced the appointment of Jennifer Tabone as Chief Executive Officer.
