A drive-thru establishment currently being built in the Central Business District will house a new fast food concept by Fluid, a popular St Julian’s steakhouse, WhosWho.mt can confirm.
Documents seen by this portal show that the menu will be centred around an American-style kitchen.
The new business is being formed “with the intention to differ from the traditional franchises and fast food branches already present in Malta.”
The management says that the goal is to “keep up with the efficiency and quickness that these existing establishments already provide, but with a twist involving higher quality dishes.”
In fact, the estimated waiting time per customer is expected to be no more than five to six minutes.
“We strongly believe that quality comes from fresh products,” says a representative for the new drive-thru. “We work hard on sourcing most of the raw ingredients from local production.”
The building will feature a “unique design” through the conversion of shipping containers into a catering outlet, in keeping with the industrial nature of the area.
Speaking to WhosWho.mt, Doriette Tedesco explains that the concept originated during the COVID-19 pandemic, when the team noticed the “huge growth” in at-home catering trends.
“Therefore, we are incorporating some of the favourite foods served in our restaurant, which has been in operation for over 22 years and has built a good, respected brand, into this new drive-thru idea.”
She adds that Mrieħel is “the right location” for the investment. The area attracts a total daily workforce of around 10,000 people, employed by large coporate firms, suppliers, and a large variety of other establishments.
The tentative opening date for the new Fluid drive-thru is in September.
