Numerous fire engines, ambulances, civil protection and police cars are currently in the area, as a fire seems to have broken out in a Gasan garage.

According to GasanZammit Motors Limited, the fire was electrical in nature, and the company denied that either electric or combustion engine vehicles were involved.

"Thanks to the preventative measures in place on site, the fire was immediately contained and no one was harmed in any way," the statement read. 

Workers seem to have been evacuated from the area.
