Cyprus Airways announced that Paul Sies has been appointed new CEO of the company. An experienced business leader, Mr Sies assumed responsibilities Friday 20th May.

He is equipped with extensive industry experience which also includes, Virgin, Air Malta, Sabre and most recently The International Air Transport Association (IATA) and comes with a proven track record of successfully launching new companies and turning around companies that exhibited commercial and strategic challenges.

“We are confident our team has been strengthened by the appointment of Paul Sies as our new CEO” said Simon Camilleri, Cyprus Airways shareholder, adding that “we wish him and our team at large a great success through the current and coming challenges”.

“Cyprus Airways will be well-served under Mr Sies capable leadership,” said Mikhail Alenkin, another Cyprus Airways shareholder, adding that “…the level of Industry understanding, passenger-centric mindset, and organizational leadership experience make him the ideal leader to guide Cyprus Airways through its next chapter”.

On his part, Me Sies commented:

“I am honoured to work with the Cyprus Airways team on a challenging mission to create a sustainable future for Cyprus Airways and making it the airline of choice for the Cypriot population, European tourist and businesspeople coming to Cyprus. Turning the airline into an important infrastructural tool for the Cypriot economy.”
