Kurt Abela began as a sole trader in August 2006, under the trading name Project Technik, specialising in turnkey projects and plasterboard installations. Alongside this, the retail arm, situated in Cannon Road, Qormi, was launched to cater for the ever-growing demand for quality finishing products and solutions. In 2010, Project Technik Limited was formed, and all operations were consolidated under its umbrella.
Over the years, Project Technik has contributed to several landmark projects across the Maltese Islands, including the Gozo Innovation Hub, the new Saint James Hospital in Bulebel, SPAR Supermarket at Daniel’s Shopping Mall, and MCAST. More recently, Project Technik was behind the renovation projects at The Carlton Hotel and Villa Lauri, while also tasked with contracting works at Trident Park, Malta College of Sports and The Hyatt Centric Hotel. Our organisation also collaborated in carrying out works for Sigma 2024 and the Ministerial Council of the Organisation for Security and Co-Operation in Europe (OSCE) Conference held in Malta in December 2024.
Project Technik works alongside its sister company, KA Holdings Limited, handling the finishing for its projects, including Centris I and Centris II. It will also play a central role in KA Holdings’ upcoming flagship project – a 3-star hotel in St Julian’s. Most of the works, from construction to finishing and now also including aluminium apertures, a new venture the company is venturing into will be carried out by Project Technik’s skilled team.
With over 15 years of experience, Project Technik has evolved into a trusted brand name in the construction industry, transitioning from turnkey contractors to industry-leading suppliers and installers of soffits, partitions, and flooring.
