Founded in 1947 by Publius Farrugia following his service in the Royal Air Force during World War II, Invicta Ltd is a family-run business with deep roots in Malta’s manufacturing heritage. Inspired by his father’s brass foundry trade and driven by an interest in nickel and chrome plating, Publius began producing decorative chrome-plated fittings and ornaments for Malta’s public and private transport sector. These high-quality products quickly became recognized for their craftsmanship and formed part of Malta’s everyday cultural identity.

A major milestone came in 1954 with the introduction of Chrome Tubular Furniture, establishing Invicta Works, as it was then known, among the leading furniture manufacturers in Malta. The company expanded its portfolio to include furniture solutions for homes, hospitals, cafeterias, and offices, reflecting a forward-looking vision for modern furniture production.

In 1969, the business was officially registered as Invicta Ltd and came under the management of the second generation of the Farrugia family. At its peak, the company employed over 100 skilled workers, the majority of whom were specialized tradesmen.

Over the following decades, Invicta invested heavily in advanced manufacturing technology. As global market conditions shifted and local manufacturing became less viable, the company strategically transitioned from production to the importation of knocked-down furniture from one of Europe’s largest suppliers, for whom Invicta remains the exclusive local representative.

Today, Invicta Ltd is led by the third generation of the Farrugia family, with three brothers serving as directors. Guided by long-standing expertise and knowledge in the field, the company continues to provide high-quality furniture solutions and reliable after-sales service to both government entities and private-sector clients. Operating from its centrally located premises in Msida, Invicta remains committed to growth, innovation, and meeting the evolving needs of its customers.
