Abigail Mamo, one of the country’s most recognisable people in the female business community and the CEO of the Malta Chamber of SMEs since 2014, last week tied the knot with her life partner and fellow professional, Matthew Agius, who is the CEO of Diligex – AML Compliance Specialists.

Mr Agius has been in his role since January 2020, before which he occupied the post of Head of Business Development at Diligex.

Between 2014 and 2017, Mr Agius was also an Executive, and then Chief Operations Officer at the SME Chamber.

He also served on the Msida local council for a significant 10 years.

The couple are therefore each have experience in the cross-section of business and politics, having enjoyed varied careers in both public and private life.

The wedding took place on Friday 13th August at Castello del Solacium, in Syracuse, Sicily, where the couple’s friends and family gathered to celebrate the nuptials.

“Despite the challenging times we managed to have our dream wedding,” Ms Mamo wrote on social media.

She thanked all those who supported the couple on their special day, and all those who wished her well.
