Aki’s new London restaurant has made it to the latest edition of the Michelin Guide less than a year after opening its doors.

Situated in a former bank at Cavendish Square, a stone’s throw away from Oxford Circus, Aki London is the first restaurant that the db Group launched outside of Malta.

It followed the success of Aki’s original Valletta branch, which has been listed in the Michelin Guide for five consecutive years.

Aki London has been featured in top UK publications and has hosted a number of celebrity events, including Romeo Beckham’s fashion brand launch and 23rd birthday, and a summer soirée hosted by Oliver Cheshire and Pixie Lott.

“The high-ceilinged banking hall has been transformed into a chic brasserie-style space, with a statement cocktail bar and an open kitchen, where the chefs prepare sashimi, maki, nigiri and dishes such as caramelised black cod cooked on the robata grill,” Michelin said of Aki London.

“If you’re celebrating, a selection of Wagyu beef cuts will catch the eye. The midweek ‘Business Lunch’ menu offers the best value for money.”

When inaugurating Aki London last October, Prime Minister Robert Abela said the new restaurant reflects the strength of Malta's culinary industry and its potential for global growth, and highlighted its role in showcasing Maltese hospitality abroad
