On Sunday 14th April, a 12-hour community charity swin organised by Eurosport, with the participation of Neil Agius and Fabio Spiteri, among others, raised an astonishing €6,000 for Inspire Malta, Michele Peresso Group shared.

The funds raised will go directly to support and provide swimming therapy sessions at Inspire, a local NGO that provides services and facilities for people with disabilities and their families. In addition, the funds will also support swimming lessons from The Swimming Workshop and other swimming schools for children in Maltese institutes.

The charity organised at the Neptunes pool in St Julian’s included a total of 150 participants.

“Mr Agius, known for his endurance feats, swam an impressive 44 kilometres, while Mr Spiteri pushed his boundaries, making his longest swim yet. Both swimmers covered the whole 12 hours, only stopping for short energy-fuelling breaks,” the group shared.

The event was attended by a diverse audience including young enthusiasts, athletes and public figures.

Notably, Thomas Mifsud – who was born with spina bifida and osteogenesis imperfecta – completed the swim in an impressive six hours and seven minutes.

“This 12-hour community charity swim left an enduring impact, touching hearts and inspiring change,” the group concluded.

The group was originally set up in 1965 but was later restructured into a Group of Companies having five member companies: Eurosport, Europharma, Eurosave and Europerfumery and Michele Peresso Ltd as a holding company.
