Since being appointed Chief Executive Officer of Mercury Towers, Marcel Bonnici has been actively involved in every aspect of the project’s pre-opening phase. In the last year, the main focus shifted to preparing a resilient management structure and a robust strategy to deliver short, medium and long-term goals.

Prior to joining Mercury Towers, he held several senior positions at JobsPlus, serving him in good stead in the way of people management.

“My career began as an Officer of the Armed Forces of Malta and my work ethic is underpinned by discipline, respect and teamwork. My leadership style can be defined through clear and consistent communication,” he says.

Mr Bonnici holds a degree in economics from the University of Malta and a Master’s in Business Administration from Maastricht School of Management in the Netherlands.

Sat present, his focus is to ensure that Mercury Towers by Zaha Hadid Architects reaches its full potential. Once complete, this new ‘city within a city’ will feature a unique mix of retail, entertainment, catering and accommodation facilities.
