Etienne A. Calleja has had an extremely varied career, having worked in the health sector and in law enforcement agencies prior to qualifying as a lawyer.

“I have 12 years of solid education in the sciences, which were put to good use in my deployment at the Forensic Science Laboratory within the Malta Police Force. It was my engagement with the Malta Police Force and the nature of my work that led to my interest in the study of the law and it was also during my term of service that I qualified as a Doctor of Laws and Advocate,” he explains.

His doctoral thesis was themed ‘DNA sampling – rights and duties’.

Soon after graduating, Dr Calleja left the force to set up his own firm. Since then, Calleja & Associates Advocates has had a broad genre of clientele and an equally broad range of cases. The firm specialises in corporate criminal liability, contract drafting, IP, public procurement, food law and biotechnology.
