EY has announced the appointment of Ronald Attard as its new Country Managing Partner for Cyprus.

Mr Attard moves into the Cypriot role having worked “very closely” with the firm and its partners as part of his position as Strategy and Transactions Leader for Central, Eastern and Southeastern Europe & Central Asia Region, which he has held since 2016, EY says.

Alongside his new post and his regional position, he will maintain his existing role as Country Managing Partner of Malta, which he has occupied since 2013.

Mr Attard joined EY in 1999 when the firm was first established in Malta. His experience includes leading privatisation projects as well as other asset sales.

He acts as client-serving partner for institutions in Malta, including the Government of Malta and Bank of Valletta, as well as family businesses in Malta, and EY identifies that he has played a leading role in developing a managed services offering in Malta.

He also created the Malta Attractiveness Survey, which is an annual study of the FDI landscape in Malta. His titles include CPA, FCMA, FCCA and FIA.
