FIMBank PLC announced on Wednesday that its appointment of Claire Imam Thompson as non-Executive Director has been granted regulatory approval.

Ms Imam Thompson, who is a British citizen and resident, currently holds the position of Executive Vice President Head of Global Trade, Enterprise Partnerships at Mastercard.

In her role, she leads the work with major financial players, logistics providers and technology companies to build digital, sustainable supply chains, FIMBank explained.

“By combining Mastercard’s network and assets such as blockchain, open banking, data insights, leveraging the global funding and platform technology capabilities of her partner, she leads the co-creation of new digital solutions that address funding challenges, thereby creating more inclusive supply chains,” it added.

Ms Imam Thompson brings over 20 years of experience in the financial services industry. Her career has been spent in leadership roles in Finance and Transaction banking across Europe and Asia.

Before joining Mastercard, she held senior positions at Standard Chartered Bank in London and Singapore, Royal Bank of Scotland and ABN AMRO Bank.

Her new employer, FIMBank, is a trade finance services provider based in St Julian’s, Malta.
