Business Profile

I am the Chief Executive Officer of Bank of Valletta plc. I am also on the Board of Directors of the Bank as an Executive Director, chair the Executive Committee and a member of several management committees. I am also the chairperson of the Board of Directors of BOV Fund Services Limited and sit on the Board of Directors of BOV Asset Management Limited.

I began my career at Bank of Valletta in 1985. Over this period, I have occupied various executive positions covering the bank’s asset management, retail banking and credit business areas. I have also occupied various financial services-related industry positions including Chair of the Malta Asset Servicing Association, board member of the European Fund and Asset Management Association, as well as Chair of FinanceMalta, Malta’s national promotional body for the financial services industry.

I am a Harvard Business School Alumnus, having completed a General Management Program at Harvard Business School.

Business Activities

1985: Employed with Bank of Valletta p.l.c. in the retail branch network where I executed various responsibilities.
1989: Deployed in the Bank's Securities Division to service clients' portfolios invested in the domestic and international capital markets.
1994: Appointed by Bank of Valletta plc to a project team whose remit was to set up Valletta Fund Management Limited.
1995: Appointed Head of Business Development of Valletta Fund Management Limited.
1999: Appointed Assistant General Manager of Valletta Fund Management Limited.
2004: Appointed General Manager of Valletta Fund Management Limited.
2006: Appointed as Director on the Board of Directors of Valletta Fund Management Limited (rebranded as Bank of Valletta Asset Management) and General Manager of Valletta Fund Services Limited (rebranded as Bank of Valletta Fund Services).
2006: Appointed Chairman of the Management Committee of the Malta Asset Servicing Association.
2008: Appointed as Chief Officer Fund Services and as a member of Management Board of Bank of Valletta plc.
2008: Appointed Chairman of the Board of Governors of FinanceMalta, a position held up to October 2019. I am currently a member of the Board of Governors.
2011: Appointed Chairman of the Board of Directors of Malita Investments plc.
2012: Appointed on the Board of Directors of the Wignacourt Funds SICAV plc which has since been merged with the Vilhena Funds SICAv plc.
2012: Appointed on the Board of Directors of the La Valette Funds SICAV plc in representation of Bank of Valletta Asset Management which has since been merged in the Vilhena Funds SICAv plc.
2012: Appointed on the Board of Directors of the Vilhena Funds SICAV plc in representation of Bank of Valletta Asset Mangement as the appointed Corporate Director.
2014: European Fund and Asset Management Association (EFAMA) – Appointed as member of the Board in representation of the Malta Asset Servicing Association.
2014: Appointed as Chief Officer Business Development – Investments. (BOV)
2018: Appointed as Chairman Attard & Co Group
2021: Appointed as Chief Retail Banking Officer (BOV)
2022: Appointed as Chief Executive Officer (BOV)
2024: Elected Chairperson of the Malta Bankers’ Association (MBA)

Institute of Sales and Marketing Management (ISMM), United Kingdom - Fellow Status - Diploma with Distinction in Sales and Marketing Management - Ranked first in Malta in the examination sittings leading to this Diploma and was granted an Award by the ISMM in recognition of “Exceptional Achievement”.
ACCA – Passed 9/13 ACCA examinations reaching the Profesional Stage. My ACCA member registration number is 0014553.
