Conservator-restorer with over 17 years of experience in the preservation of cultural heritage, I specialize in the restoration of canvas paintings, panel paintings, wall paintings, sculptures and decorative architectural surfaces. My work is driven by a deep passion for art, history and scientific research, and I have co-authored several publications, including The Activity of Filippo Paladini in Vizzini (Catania) and Limits in the Restoration of Historical Organs. Currently, I serve as Chief Conservator and Curator for the St John’s Co-Cathedral Foundation, overseeing the care and management of the Co-Cathedral’s collection, interiors and Museum. This profession demands not only a solid academic background in conservation science, art history, and restoration techniques, but also the ability to make critical decisions when working with priceless and irreplaceable artifacts. I adopt a scientific, multidisciplinary approach to conservation, with a focus on preserving the material authenticity and expressive complexity of artworks. My work involves close contact with historically and artistically significant artifacts—ranging from paintings and frescoes to manuscripts and textiles—ensuring their preservation, cultural continuity, and meaningful engagement for future generations.
