Paul Darmanin has been appointed to the Board of Directors, as well as the Audit Committee, of Bortex Group Finance plc.

Bortex Group Finance is a wholly owned subsidiary of Bortex Group Holdings Co Ltd and is the financing arm for the Group. Bortex is best known locally for being the longest established home-grown manufacturer of quality men’s tailoring and is a highly respected name in formal wear. The Group also has a long history in the hospitality and tourism industry via a number of hotels.

On his part, Mr Darmanin is a Certified Public Accountant and Auditor, and has a Fellowship with the Chartered Association of Certified Accountants (UK) and the Malta Institute of Accountants.

He began his professional career as an auditor with Deloitte Malta in 1988 and was admitted to the board of partners in 2001.

Through-out his career Mr Darmanin acted as leader of the Malta audit practice as well as their business processing solutions practice. He also served on the executive board of partners for a number of years.

He gained experience in servicing a number of clients operating mainly in the hospitality sector, retail sector, importation, wholesaling and distribution sector, manufacturing sector as well as financial services sector. He served large local family organisations as well as listed entities and government organisations.

Mr Darmanin also served on committees within the Malta Institute of Accountants and for many years was a lecturer in auditing and accounting for both a leading UK learning institution and the Malta Institute of Accountants. He retired from the Malta Deloitte firm in 2019 and became an authorised Corporate Service Provider in 2022.
