Maypole has opened a new store in Valletta, bringing its total number of outlets across Malta to 30.

Located on St Lucia’s Street, close to the Courthouse and the National Library, the new shop expands Maypole’s footprint in one of the capital’s busiest areas.

Founded in Qormi as a small traditional bakery, Maypole has evolved into an industrial operation specialising in straight and long-fermented dough breads, sweet and savoury items, and outside catering products, all sold through its branded stores.

The company was originally established by Carmel Debono and his wife Angela. As an ode to Mr Debono – widely known as Nenu – Maypole also opened a restaurant named Nenu The Artisan Baker, which specialises in traditional Maltese food.
