Last week, Marcel Grech Mallia bid farewell to Epic Malta, the company he had been working with for the past two decades. This includes the time prior to its rebranding from Vodafone Malta in 2020.
“What an emotional ride the past few days have been,” commented Mr Grech Mallia on LinkedIn.
Mr Grech Mallia, who until recently served as Chief Commercial Officer (CCO), initially joined the company in 2003 as a Consumer Marketing Executive.
Throughout the years, he gained experience in various departments and held different roles namely Enterprise Services Sales Manager and Corporate Marketing Senior Manager.
Mr Grech Mallia holds a Master of Business Administration and a Bachelor of Commerce in Banking and Finance, both from University of Malta, in addition to other qualifications.
On LinkedIn, he stated that his farewell coincides with the “highest point” of his career at the company, as 2023 “was characterised by all-time record sales in most products and services.” He emphasised that this translated into the material growth in Epic’s mobile market share.
“I am even prouder to have grown, led and relentlessly supported driven, loyal, engaged and highly-performing B2C and B2B teams,” he stated.
Additionally, he noted that the bonds forged “with a myriad of B2B and B2C customers” have been a significant asset in his journey, expressing confidence that they will intersect again “in most cases.”
After expressing gratitude to his colleagues, from whom he has learnt different lessons in different ways, he added that it is now time to turn the page.
While he remains discreet about his new chapter, he hinted at being “utterly excited” for what lies ahead and assured that he will keep his network updated.
