Tech.mt has just launched an expression of interest inviting all ambitious Malta-based tech companies to participate in their upcoming business missions for 2025. In fact, companies are invited to attend two of the most significant tech events across the globe, one in Berlin and one in London this spring.

WhosWho.mt sat down with Abigail Aquilina, Business Development and Outreach Manager at Tech.mt, who shed light on why these two missions are a great opportunity for businesses who have international ambitions in their crosshairs for 2025.

“Maltese tech companies stand to gain significant value from participating in these two missions,” Abigail describes. “Apart from providing comprehensive support, including pre-event preparatory training sessions, logistical coordination, and strategic promotion, Tech.mt empowers delegates to achieve impactful results that might otherwise require significant financial investments if approached independently.”

For Tech.mt, innovation is a powerful force for change. “Our goal is to solidify Malta’s position as a global tech hub, with a clear focus on four main pillars, namely promotion, innovation, talent and assistance. We believe that the future of tech, must be built by and for everyone, and our efforts reflect this vision. That is why we actively support local startups and SMEs to bring fresh ideas to the market, by providing them with the tools and resources needed to thrive in this competitive ecosystem, such as through our pro-bono consultation initiative, local networking events, workshops, and facilitating internationalisation.”

The business missions are offered under the umbrella initiative inMalta which brings together five Government organisations under one common aim to support businesses grow.

“The inMalta consortium includes Tech.mt, Malta Enterprise, FinanceMalta, GamingMalta, and the Malta Digital Innovation Authority (MDIA), and is committed to solidifying Malta’s reputation as an emerging leader in the global tech landscape. Our collective mission is two-fold: to represent Malta as a holistic hub for foreign direct investment, while providing the right platform to local businesses to showcase their cutting-edge solutions at an international level,” Abigail continues.

“Through collaboration, the inMalta initiative continues to show Malta as a robust jurisdiction with a thriving private sector, that in turn is supported by concrete government efforts. These delegations serve as a unique platform for local businesses to form meaningful connections and facilitate access to new markets and potential investors.”

Last year, Tech.mt, together with its collaborating partners, led four successful business missions enabling 60 local businesses to showcase their expertise and expand their networks.

Aiming to build on this success, this year, inMalta will be taking businesses to four renowned events: GITEX Europe, set to take place in Berlin between 21st and 23rd May, London Tech Week, between 9th and 11th June and in Q4, Tech.mt will continue its mission by leading Malta-based delegations to GITEX Global in Dubai and Web Summit in Lisbon, two of the world’s most influential technology events.

In the first edition of this event, GITEX Europe in Berlin is set to feature over 2,500 exhibitors, from more than 100 countries, alongside more than 500 speakers, establishing itself as Europe’s most global and collaborative technology and startup event, setting a new benchmark for the European tech landscape. London Tech Week is the UK’s most influential technology event, as it is a vibrant gathering for visionaries, decision-makers, and changemakers. With over 45,000 attendees, from startups to tech giants, London Tech Week offers a proposition for tech companies which is hard to pass.

And if the past is anything to go by, many companies who have already joined the business missions have nothing but words of praise for the sterling organisation and wealth of opportunity offered them.

“At PlexMedical, we were extremely satisfied with the level of interaction and engagement at GITEX Global 2024. We found that the events aligned perfectly with our objectives to find distributors and partners for our business ventures in the Middle East region,” says Dr Adrian Attard Trevisan, Founder and CEO at Plex Medical Ltd.

Same words of praise from another past attendee, this time from local trusted IT solutions provider BMIT. “The 2024 Web Summit was not just a tech conference, but it was an opportunity for us to connect, learn and grow,” remarks Ivan Galea, Product Manager at BMIT.
