The Malta Tourism Authority (MTA) has announced the appointment of Charles Mangion as its new Chairman, bringing decades of leadership experience to the role.

Dr Mangion, a notary by profession, has played a significant part in Malta’s economic and tourism landscape. His previous roles include Chairman of Air Malta and Enemalta, as well as key political positions such as Minister of Justice and Leader of the Opposition.

Expressing his enthusiasm for the new position, Dr Mangion stated:

“I am honoured to lead the MTA at this crucial time. Tourism is at the heart of Malta’s economy and cultural identity. As we focus on quality experiences and sustainable growth, I look forward to working with stakeholders to strengthen our industry.”

Dr Mangion takes over from Gavin Gulia, who served as MTA Chairman for 12 years, contributing significantly to the sector’s growth. The MTA expressed its gratitude for his dedication and leadership.

As Malta continues to evolve as a premier travel destination, Dr Mangion’s experience and vision will play a key role in shaping the industry’s future.
