The Malta Society of Arts, Malta’s oldest institution for the promotion of the arts and crafts – established in 1852 – has congratulated Matthew Cassar for 25 years of teaching at the institution.

Mr Cassar is the longest serving teacher of the MSA, having applied to teach Art with the institution in July 1995.

After an interview with members of the Committee, he was offered the job to teach the subject at all levels.

He was enrolled on ๐Ÿ๐Ÿ‘th ๐‰๐ฎ๐ฅ๐ฒ ๐Ÿ๐Ÿ—๐Ÿ—๐Ÿ“ and his first lesson was held on Monday ๐Ÿ๐Ÿ•th ๐‰๐ฎ๐ฅ๐ฒ ๐Ÿ๐Ÿ—๐Ÿ—๐Ÿ“ during the Summer School period. He has been teaching regularly at the Society ever since.

"During all these years I have witnessed the MSA transform into a state-of-the-art establishment thanks to the great work being done by MSA's President Arch Adrian Mamo, all the committee, MSA Manager Mr. Joe Scerri and all the staff. I am really honoured to be part of the Society's team!"

Mr Cassar studied History of Art and Sports Education at the University of Malta. He also spent five years practising the fine arts at the Malta School of Art, and attended a three-year course in Fine Arts at the University of Scranton, Pennsylvania, USA.

He taught in several schools, and notably spent 10 years teaching at St. Paul's Missionary College in Rabat. He has also exhibited at the MSA as part of the Members Exhibition 'Perception' in 2018.

The MSA thanked Mr Cassar and all its teachers for their hard work and dedication to the students.
