Samuele D’Imperio, founder and CEO of Lord Chambray Brewery, has been invited to form part of the panel of judges at the 2024 World Beer Cup.

The World Beer Cup was developed in 1996 by the Brewers Association to celebrate the art and science of brewing. This event is often referred to as the “olympics” of beer competitions and is also considered as “the most prestigious beer competition in the world.”

This year, the competition and the awards ceremony will be taking place in April 2024 in Las Vegas. These will take place in conjunction with the Craft Brewers and BrewExpo America, also in Las Vegas.

In a heartfelt post on LinkedIn, Mr D’Imperio stated that it is an honour to be able to represent Malta for the first time in its history “at the most important competition in the world.”

Mr D’Imperio has a Degree in Economics with a Masters in Business Administration and Management from the University of Eastern Piedmont.

He has been visiting Malta alongside his family for the past 30 years and eventually decided to open Malta’s first craft brewery in 2014. The brewery is situated in Gozo and until 2022, it had received over 12 international awards and export 20 per cent of its production abroad. Additionally, Lord Chambray Brewery made Malta’s first gluten-free craft beer and they are certified vegan.

“Thank you so much for inviting me to be part of the panel of judges of World Beer Cup,” he concluded.
