Joshua Ellul has been appointed Associate Professor in Computer Science at the University of Malta (UM).

Prof. Ellul, who has been a senior lecturer at UM for more than eight years, made the announcement on social media on Saturday saying: "I’m happy to share that I’ve been promoted to Associate Professor at University of Malta!”

Prof. Ellul’s main areas of interest and expertise include blockchain, the Internet of Things, virtual machines and also operating systems.

Apart from this, Prof. Ellul is also the Chairman of the Malta Digital Innovation Authority and the Director of the Centre for Distributed Ledger Technologies, two roles he started in 2018.

For over 400 years, UM has been Malta’s hub for international academic exchange, with it being the leading higher education institution in the country.

With over 3,500 students graduating in numerous disciplines annually, the UM alumni community is continuously growing, with each of the 14 faculties offering a wide range of courses available to students.
