AX investments plc has appointed Josef Formosa Gauci as Non-Executive Director and member of its Audit Committee with effect from Tuesday, 7th September 2021.

An announcement came via the Malta Stock Exchange. 

He is replacing Michael Sciortino, who resigned from both roles with effect from 2nd September 2021.

AX Investments plc is the financing arm of AX Group, which in turn is engaged in hospitality services, health care services, construction & property development.

About Josef Formosa Gauci

He was educated at De La Salle College Malta and Stonyhurst College in the UK and graduated in economics from Nottingham University in 1989. Mr Formosa Gauci is a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales and a fellow of the Malta Institute of Accountants.

He worked with Price Waterhouse in London and in Malta and was subsequently General Manager of the Galaxy Hotel and of Trident Developments Ltd. Between 2008 and 2014 he was CEO of the Malta Tourism Authority and has also served as President of the Malta Hotels and Restaurants Association (MHRA). Mr Gauci Formosa was a member of the Malta Council of Economic and Social Development (MCESD) and is presently the Chairman of the Malta Airport Foundation. He is also a member of the Sovereign Military Order of Malta.
