FIMBank plc has announced that its Board of Directors has appointed John C. Grech as its Chairman, and Masaud M. J. Hayat was appointed Vice-Chairman.
Enjoying a long and varied career, Dr Grech founded EMCS Ltd, a boutique advisory firm, in 1983 and chaired the company until December 2014.
He has previously served as Deputy Chairman of the Malta Development Corporation (MDC), Chairman of the Malta University Services Ltd (MUS), and Chairman of the Malta Export Trade Corporation, and Chairman of the Bank of Valletta Group of Companies.
He was a co-founder of MiddleSea Valletta Life Assurance Ltd and its first Chairman. He was also a Director on the Board of the Malta Freeport Corporation and Chairman of the Malta Tourism Authority.
Dr Grech was a lead founder of the Mediterranean Bank Network that was set up in 1996 and served as its first President.
Apart from his role as FIMBank Chairman, Dr Grech is professionally active as a Business and Management Consultant both in Malta and overseas, having acted in an advisory capacity also to specialised United Nations bodies.
He is currently undertaking research on the 21st Century Organisation.
Dr Grech is a member of the British Chartered Institute of Management and a fellow of the Maltese Institute of Management. In 1995 he was elected to the Fellowship of the Chartered Institute of Bankers.
