HSBC Bank Malta plc has unveiled its appointment of Morgan Carabott as its new Head of Internal Audit, subject to regulatory approval.

She will replace Anna Camilleri, who leaves the position to take up the role of Senior Vice President and Chief Auditor at HSBC Bank Canada.

Ms Carabott is a qualified accountant and auditor, holding an Accountancy Honours Degree and a Bachelor of Commerce.

She is also a Computer Information Systems Auditor and a certified Anti-Money Laundering Specialist.

She rises to the position after joining the bank as its Deputy Head of Internal Audit in 2018 after previously working as an external auditor at one of the Big Four Accounting Firms and as a Senior Internal Auditor in the Insurance Industry.

Ms Carabott is also a current member of the Malta Bankers Association Executive Committee.

Her predecessor joined HSBC Malta in 2015, from PwC, where she held the post of senior manager for governance, risk and compliance services.
