The travel and movements restrictions still in force even if many countries, including Malta, ease measures to contain the spread of the COVID-19 virus have led to CasinoBeats Malta becoming a digital event.

The second edition of the casino conference and exhibition was originally planned to be held in Malta in late March, but it was then postponed to 22nd-24th June because of the pandemic restrictions. According to promotional material, about 1,500 delegates, 100 speakers and 40 exhibitors were expected to attend.

Organisers SBC Events have now announced that the fully virtual three-day conference, exhibition, and networking experience will be held between 30th June and 2nd July.

Ivan Filletti, Chief Operations Officer of GamingMalta, told SBC Events CasinoBeats Malta Digital 2020 will be the ideal thought leadership platform to take stock of the prevailing scenario of Malta and the international iGaming industry, together with what is shaping the sector’s agenda. “We are keen to use this platform to share with both the public and stakeholders why Malta is and remains the home of gaming excellence.”

Among other things, a panel is expected to examine how businesses coped with the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on the casino market and the next steps for the industry as the world emerges from lockdown.

Also on the virtual conference agenda are sessions addressing the compliance and payments challenges that have arisen in recent months.
